Turtle Rock was in the works but I was trying to make it way more of a collaborative type thing at the time and we hadn’t even started thinking about recording our songs. Just rehearsing and gigging and it was nice to keep it as just a live project for a while. This album ended up being my private little outlet for that chunk of time. Just a bunch of ideas I had been messing with for a while that weren’t quite Turtle Rock material but I nonetheless had to get them out of my head and securely trapped somewhere. I had the studio in the garage where we were also rehearsing, so a lot of these were tracked out of the manic excited energy I get following a band practice.
